Dining Hall Team

Job Purpose:

This behind the scenes volunteer role is perfect for individuals who share the value in serving others and building caring relationships with camper, families, volunteers and staff at their own pace.

Dining Hall Team (DHT) volunteers are members of a 3 to 4 person team and rotate through dining hall duties including the set-up and clean-up of before, during and after meals.

Although this role can be physically demanding, your experience at Camp Goodtimes will be as special and rewarding as you make it. When the DHT is not facilitating meal times, they are encouraged to support other program areas, engage with cabin groups and families, or help out in other ways to make the magic of camp a reality.

Responsibilities:

• ·       Initiate dialogue with campers and families to create an engaging environment that supports positive relationships
• ·       Collaborate with fellow Dining Hall Team members to create a healthy environment that supports positive behaviour and a "can-do" attitude
• ·       Set up, facilitate and clean up snack and beverage stations at activities
• ·       Set up and clean up dining hall and deck area before and after meals
• ·       Help serve desserts at meal times
• ·       Wash and put away dishes

Requirements

• ·       Proof of having received 2 doses of the Measles Vaccination
• ·       Criminal Record Search including vulnerable sector check (within one year of camp)

Dates:

Volunteers come either one week or multiple weeks of the summer. Dates below:

• ·       July 3^rd – 6^th – Family Program
• ·       July 8^th – 13^th – Kids Program
• ·       July 15^th – 20^th – Kids Program
• ·       July 22^nd – 25^th – Family Program
• ·       July 27^th – 30^th – Family Program
• ·       August 1^st – 4^th – Family Program
• ·       August 19^th – 24^th – Kids Program
• ·       August 26^th – 31^st – Teen Program
