Lifeguard
Job Purpose:
This all-hands-on-deck volunteer role is perfect for individuals with a valid NLS Award and love the waterfront.
Lifeguard volunteers are members of a 5 person team and deliver all waterfront activities and related programming. Waterfront activities include (but are not limited to) swimming, swimming instruction, boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, the water trampoline, etc. Lifeguards are also responsible for assisting the Waterfront Supervisor in regular maintenance, organization and inventory of waterfront equipment.
Although this role can be physically demanding, your experience at Camp Goodtimes will be as special and rewarding as you make it. When the Lifeguard team is not facilitating meal times, they are encouraged to support other program areas, engage with cabin groups and families, or help out in other ways to make the magic of camp a reality..
Responsibilities:
- · Support the safety of campers and workforce at Waterfront
- · Collaborate with Lifeguard team to create a healthy environment that supports positive behaviour and attitudes at Waterfront
- · Engage campers and workforce in Waterfront programming, including boating, swimming and free time.
Requirements
- · Valid NLS Award (renewed at least every 2 years)
- · Valid First-Aid certification (renewed at least every 3 years)
- · Current CPR-C certification (renewed every 3 years)
- · Proof of having received 2 doses of the Measles Vaccination
- · Criminal Record Search including vulnerable sector check (within one year of camp)
Dates:
Volunteers come either one week or multiple weeks of the summer. Dates below:
- · July 3rd – 6th – Family Program
- · July 8th – 13th – Kids Program
- · July 15th – 20th – Kids Program
- · July 22nd – 25th – Family Program
- · July 27th – 30th – Family Program
- · August 1st – 4th – Family Program
